After a mindblowing WandVision finale, Falcon and the Winter Soldier movie will be released on March 19 on Disney Plus. Both of these shows were produced by Marvel Studios, and the characters are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Winter Soldier, also called Bucky Barnes, portrayed by Sebastian Stan was first introduced in Captain America: First Avenger (2011). Falcon, also called Sam Wilson, portrayed by Anothony Mackie was introduced 3 years later, in Captain America: Winter the Winter Soldier (2014).
In the MCU, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Winter Soldier is a World War II veteran, who was captured and experimented on by HYDRA. In the first Captain America movie he was introduced as Steve Rogers’ (Captain America) friend and ally. Later in the next two movies Steve fought for his freedom and succeeded in doing so. Bucky was granted an asylum in Wakanda by the Black Panther who “put Bucky in cryogenic suspension until a cure for his brainwashing could be found, which it was, by T’Challa’s younger sister, Shuri, in Avengers: Infinity War. “
Falcon’s first appearance in a marvel movie was in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He is also referred to as “Samuel Wilson”. Samuel is a former US Air Force pararescue airman, who left when his wing-man Riley died in battle. At this time, Samuel met Captain America and was involved in his conflict with HYDRA, as Captain America needed support from anyone not associated with S.H.I.E.L.D corporation, as they had been infiltrated by HYDRA. Taking his title as the Falcon, he had then assisted Captain America in demolishing all Alexander Pierce’s schemes of world domination. After their victory against HYDRA unit, Samuel agreed to assist Captain America in finding the Winter Soldier, who was Captain America’s close friend who had been brainwashed by HYDRA.
I believe that this movie would have a similar success to WandaVision. The trailer was released February 7on various platforms, such as Youtube. The storyline will focus on events after Captain America’s retirement in Avengers: Endgame. Enjoy the series!
