Chocolate Cracked Cookie Recipe

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar



  1. Mix 1 cup cocoa powder, 2 cups white sugar, and 1/2 cup vegetable oil. Beat in the 4 eggs one at a time, then stir in 2 teaspoons of vanilla. Stir in the 2 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
  2. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours.
  3. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line the baking sheet(s) with parchment paper.
  4. Roll dough into 1 inch balls and coat in confectioners’ sugar. Place about an inch and a half apart on the cookie sheet.
  5. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool for about 10 minutes


These cookies are very time consuming to make, about 5 hours but 4 of those hours are just the bowl sitting in the fridge. And the time is totally worth it, they are delicious cookies!
