To put it simply, Inktober is a yearly challenge for artists that begins in October; everyday, a piece of art is created, either based on a prompt or an artist’s own imagination. Traditionally, art pieces are created using ink or inking materials, hence the title of Inktober. 

The challenge, created by Jake Parker in 2009, is meant to help artist’s improve upon their creative and drawing abilities; since drawing everyday is well known to drastically improve art. 

Unfortunately, Inktober is coming to a close with the end of October, the last prompts of the month are Catch (30th) and Ripe (31st), the designs featured are based upon the prompt: Catch!
